Leave any old boot laying around and they will come….. and make their nest! Not the normal place they make their nests. Most often they will nest in thicket, bushes and abandoned woodpecker nests in tree holes and sometimes in old boots or even in mailboxes… if they aren’t used everyday! These little birds are well known for nesting in some odd places. Mom will lay from five to nine eggs in each brood and will have from two to three broods each breeding season!  Mom will sit with the eggs for 12 to 15 days until they hatch.
